Movie
Views is about film: good, bad, short, long, funny, sad, scary,
provocative - you get the point. Simply put, it's our opinion
on the movies we view.
My
Reviewing Habits
|
As
you might have guessed, I like to write. I also like
to watch movies. Both collide when I write my many reviews,
approximately three per week. Whether it's the latest
Hollywood blockbuster or a quiet direct-to-video indie
film, I try to give them all the same consideration.
I do my best to look at what the filmmakers were trying
to get at in the first place and comment on whether
or not they reach those goals.

My
Reviewing Approach
|
Opinions
will differ for any movie. While I may not see brilliance
in say Spider-Man, for someone out there it's
probably their favourite film. That's fine. With my
reviews I do my best to set forth my opinion and back
it up. Simple enough.
I
also try to test a variety of formats. Sometimes they
work. Others might not as well as I hoped they could
have. If I feel so inspired I like the challenge of
an experiment and a new style. Still, the end result
of a backed-up opinion should still be there.

Some
favourites.
|
I
honestly, don't think I could make a difinitive all-time
favorites list that would remain the same week after
week. I see new movies, my mood changes, the moon is
different. But since I don't want to seem like I'm copping
out, here's 15 movies I can watch over and over. One
day I will expand this list and add some reviews to
go with them. But for now, here's 15 films that I find
great pleasure in watching. Please note that this doesn't
mean I think they're the best films ever made. That's
a whole other debate.
